3. Our Products
We make every effort to accurately describe and detail every element of our products that we believe is necessary for The Customer to know before making a purchase. Furthermore, we make every effort to accurately photograph and visually represent the product accurately. If you are uncertain about a product or service, please refrain from purchasing and contact us directly for more information before continuing. It is imperative that We give you enough information to be an informed consumer.
By purchasing a product through our website, You confirm that you fully understand what you are purchasing and that the product(s) meets your specific requirements. This, within reason, includes subjective factors such as but not limited to:
- Discrepancies in the described and demonstrated colour of product
- Discrepancies in the visual look, feel or finish of a product
- Discrepancies in how the product sounds and operates on an electrical level
Please Note
- Every instrument and product we make will be slightly different. This is due to tolerances within our machinery and the handmade element of our production. We make every effort to be transparent in what the product is that we are selling and represent it accordingly.
- Aluminium is a soft metal and is prone to “scuffs”, “scrapes” and other forms of very minor cosmetic imperfections.
- A wide variety of the products we use “age” and change their look over time and is to be expected as a product is used and/or is exposed to differing environments and conditions. This includes and is not limited to the following:
o Natural oil, wax, stain and varnish finishes
o Nitrocellulose/Cellulose based finishes
o Polyurethane based finishes
o Anodised and natural metal finishes including clear coating finishes.
o Chrome plated and other plated/covered hardware
- We endeavour to ship each and every product in the condition as described.
- Each instrument we ship will be thoroughly inspected to ensure that it meets our stringent quality standards. However, due to the nature of shipping, the product(s) may be exposed to circumstances including, but not limited to, climatic variations such as temperature and humidity levels caused by overnight storage and international flights.
As a result, your product may arrive in a condition slightly different to the condition at shipping. Unfortunately, this is out of our control. This is especially applicable if you have purchased a product with a wooden component. For example, a wooden guitar neck may require truss rod adjustment.
Please Note
o Should you need to carry out such work and require guidance, please contact us using the details in Section 2.
o Do not proceed with any modifications or alterations to your instrument or product unless You have both the adequate skills and knowledge to safely do so without causing permanent damage to you and/or the product. Any damage caused as a result of negligence may void your warranty (Section 6).
4. When Ordering a production model guitar, component or product
4.1. Shipping and Returns
We will post to any address as long as the address at which your payment card is registered is also present on your order.
Where possible and when a product is in stock, we will dispatch orders within 48 hours of payment confirmation. Orders and shipments are not usually processed at Weekends or during UK Public Holidays.
Due to the hand-finished nature and high levels of inspection and setup applicable to many of our products, we cannot guarantee a shipping window. However, we endeavour to ship as fast as is reasonably possible.
4.2. Items Damaged in Transit
All items leave Alien Alloy Guitars premises in an original undamaged state. We extensively package all items safely and adequately to prevent damage in transit. We are not responsible for any damage to a product or item caused in transit.
Should your order arrive damaged, please take photos that clearly show damage to the box/packaging and damage to the products contained within. Please pass these photos onto us using the contact details in Section 2. This will allow us to begin proceedings to ensure a suitable resolution is achieved.
4.3. Faulty Goods and Returns
Unless otherwise stated, all goods sold are new and should arrive in such condition. We endeavour to provide a suitable resolution should any item arrive damaged or faulty. If an item within your order is found to be faulty or damaged, you must contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. Depending on the nature of the fault or the issue and when repair is not appropriate or possible, it may be deemed that the only solution is to return an item for replacement or refund. If so, you must return the item within 14 days of receipt. All contact details can be found in Section 2 of this document. You must contact Alien Alloy Guitars before returning any product or individual item from an order.
If you are within the UK, we will arrange for courier collection of the faulty goods. For anywhere else in the World, we will evaluate and provide the fairest, most reasonable solution possible for both Alien Alloy Guitars and The Customer.
Any returns of faulty goods outside of the parameters set in section 4.3 will be dealt with on a case by case basis with all postage payable by the customer.
4.4. Non-Faulty Goods
We will accept the return of non-faulty goods for exchange or refund. These items must be returned to us within 14 days of original receipt and be in the same, fully saleable condition that they were in when originally dispatched. Furthermore, original packaging must be used and all courier and carriage charges are at your expense.
This returns policy does not affect your legal rights.
Please contact us for a returns address and procedure.
4.5. Cancellation of Orders
You may cancel your order at any time prior to shipping with no cost penalty being incurred to you. Furthermore, full credit of your account will be issued if this has been taken. To cancel your order, please contact us using the details listed above in Section 2.
If your order has shipped and you wish to cancel, please refer to Section 4.4.
This cancellation policy is not applicable to custom shop or bespoke manufactured products. For more information regarding the cancellation of custom and bespoke products, please see Section 5.8 of this document.
5. When Ordering a custom shop product
5.1. What is a custom shop product?
A custom shop product can be described as anything not available to purchase from our website. It is a product and product specification that is agreed before The Customer proceeds to purchase. This specification will be detailed in a separate document and will be mutually agreed by both Us and You.
5.2. The Product & Ordering
We endeavour to be as transparent and to provide as much detail as possible when collaborating with You on a custom shop design. This collaboration can be conducted via email, phone and/or video conference.
During this collaboration, we will at the very least generate digital images based around 3D CAD models as well as 2D drawings to explicitly demonstrate the collaborative product. This will also ensure both parties are well informed and aware of what the described product is.
Once final specifications and a quotation has been agreed, a formal contract will be drawn up detailing this. Both the Seller and The Customer must agree upon this contract’s terms to proceed. Furthermore, sending a deposit constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions and the final specifications of the custom shop product detailed in the aforementioned contract.
5.3. Custom shop deposit
Unless otherwise stated, you will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the final quoted price for your custom shop product.
We reserve the right to cancel an order at any stage prior to or during the construction and manufacture of the project for various reasons. Should We not deliver the agreed goods within this respect, we will fully refund The Customer’s deposit.
5.4. Custom Shop Manufacture and Timings
During the consultation and design process, we will do our best to estimate a start and completion date for a custom shop product. Due to the unique processes used when manufacturing a custom shop product and the issues that can arise when carrying out such processes, the aforementioned dates can only remain estimates and are in no way legally binding to Us.
5.5. Revisions to custom shop design
During the custom shop product manufacturing we will contact You with images and updates of the process.
Should you wish to revise any specifications or otherwise change details of the custom shop product AFTER manufacturing has commenced, we reserve the right to apply a surcharge. Additionally, we reserve the right to charge for additional materials and labour costs where applicable and absolutely necessary.
Additional charges are based on the nature of the changes You wish to make to the custom shop product. This will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Some changes to design specification made AFTER manufacturing has commenced may be deemed ‘inconsequential’ and the aforementioned surcharges may not be applicable. This is at the discretion of Alien Alloy Guitars.
Any additions or revisions to the originally agreed custom shop product will need to be confirmed in writing.
5.6. Completion and Delivery
Once your custom shop product is completed, we will contact you to confirm your remaining balance. Additionally, we will send you a range of photographs demonstrating the product. We will photograph and represent the custom shop product to the best of our ability and as transparently as possible.
By paying the remaining 50% of your remaining balance plus shipping costs, you agree that the product we have manufactured meets the specification agreed prior to manufacturing.
For delivery, we will liaise with You to come to an agreement on the best method of postage and delivery of the custom shop product to you.
5.7. Breach of Contract
If You fail to pay the remaining 50% of your balance within 2 months of notification of completion, Alien Alloy Guitars will proceed to sell the custom shop product publicly and You will lose all rights to it.
5.8. Cancellation of Custom Shop Products
You may cancel your order at any time prior to shipping. Cancelling your custom shop product will result in the loss of your non-refundable deposit and any other further payments you may have made up to the point at which you cancel. You will lose all rights to the custom product and depending on the status of manufacture, will most likely be finished and sold publicly. To cancel your order, please contact us using the details listed above in Section 2.
If your order has shipped and you wish to cancel, please refer to Section 4.4.
5.9. Social Media
Unless otherwise agreed or specified explicitly by You to Alien Alloy Guitars in writing, we reserve the right to publicly post images, videos or any other content containing or concerning your custom shop build and/or it’s components onto our respective social media channels to assist with the promotion of Alien Alloy Guitars. If you do not want us to do this or wish to specify how we can do this with your custom shop product, please contact us using the details in Section 2. Please note that at no point shall we publish your name or any other personal information.
