FAQs

Why Aluminium?

It’s completely different to wood and that’s what makes it fun. Visually it is striking. Sonically it’s like nothing else.

Furthermore, due to the strength of Aluminium, you can do a whole bunch of wacky things with…like cut a bunch of beautiful, flowing shapes into the body whilst retaining structural integrity and strength, for example!

What do Aluminium guitars sound like?

Our Aluminium guitars have a wider sounding frequency range than traditional wood bodied guitars. This is most notable in the high and low range frequencies. They chime, almost like a piano.

Of equal note, Alumimium instruments offer considerably longer sustain and ring out when compared to their wooden counterparts.

Aluminium guitars are a completely different kettle of fish and it’s a sonic treat to behold.

Why not have a listen?

What materials do you use?

Unless otherwise stated, we use aerospace grade 6082 Aluminium for all our instruments. We have decades worth of experience handling various grades of Aluminium and believe 6082 is the best alloy for strength, performance and aesthetic finishing.

Aluminium Necks?

Yep, The Comet has an aluminium neck and it feels and sounds awesome! We will soon be selling the neck as a standalone item once we have checked intercompatibility with other bolt-on neck guitar bodies.

I’d like some different pickups in my Alien Alloy Guitar

No problems at all! Generally, we can install whatever pickups you want. Just drop us an email with the pickups you want and we will take it from there

How much does the Polymorph weigh?

Obviously it can vary a little between instruments, but they’re in the region of 4.2kg/9.2 pounds.

What are the dimensions of the Polymorph neck pocket?

We’ve tried to get as close as we can to ‘normal’ FENDER® specifications with our neck pocket. The Polymorph pocket is a square, TELECASTER® style heel.

The mounting holes on the Polymorph body are drilled and countersunk for M5 bolts. Please see the below drawing for hole locations. Should you wish to bolt on your own wooden neck, you can use screw-in threaded wood inserts to allow the use of M5 bolts.

**Please, please, please check all these dimensions and ensure compatibility with your own components before ordering! We’d hate you to be disappointed!**

Anodising?

Anodising is a process that adds an oxide layer onto the surface of Aluminium. It can be used for protecting the finish but can also be used to add dyes, therefore adding colour to the finish. We can offer this upon request.
