Throughout this document, Grange Square Ltd trading as Alien Alloy Guitars will be defined and referred to as “The Seller”, “us”, “we” or “our”.

Throughout this document, You, the customer or user of this website and/or a service provided by Alien Alloy Guitars will be referred to as “the Customer” or “you” or “your”.

2         What data do we collect?

We collect a range of data as you visit our website, use our services and purchase our products. We aim to be transparently disclose what and how we collect data as well as how we use it.

This website collects personal data to power our site analytics, including:

We share this information with Squarespace, our website analytics provider, to learn about site traffic and activity.

Google Analytics

We use “Google Analytics” to collect information about use of this Site, such as how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this Site.  Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this Site, rather than your name or other identifying information.

Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this Site.  This cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google, Inc.  The information generated by the cookie will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Please note, Alien Alloy Guitars does not collect, process or have access to the password you use on our website. This sensitive information is handled by Squarespace.

We share this information with Squarespace, our website hosting provider, so they can provide website services to us.

2.4       Emails

2.4.1          Abandoned Cart Emails

You may receive an automated email within 24 hours after you abandon your shopping cart, if all of the following occur:

·         You enter your email address at checkout, or are logged into your Customer Account.

·         You add a product which is in stock to your shopping cart.

·         You close your browser or leave this website without completing your purchase.

·         You can unsubscribe from these messages by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.

The email will link back to this website, where you can pick up where you left off and complete your purchase, should you wish to.

How will we use this data?

This data is collected by Squarespace and will be used to contact you via an automated email if your session on our website meets the aforementioned criteria.

2.4.2       Marketing Emails

We may send you marketing emails, from which you can unsubscribe by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. If you volunteer your information to join our email mailing list, you will receive an email asking to confirm your details and opt-in.

How will we use this data?

We share your contact information with both Squarespace and Mailchimp, our email marketing providers, so they can send these emails on our behalf.

2.4.3       Other and account emails

We may email you with messages about your order or account activity. For example, we may email you to tell you that:

·         You’ve created a Customer Account

·         Your Customer Account password has been reset or updated

·         You’ve made a purchase

·         Your order has shipped

It’s not possible to unsubscribe from these messages and in many cases, this is important information that should be preserved and kept safe.  

How will we use this data?

We share your contact information with Squarespace, our website hosting provider, so they can send these emails to you on our behalf.

2.5       Fonts

This website uses font files from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts. To properly display this site to you, servers where the font files are stored may receive personal information about you, including:

·         Information about your browser, network, or device

·         Your IP address

How will we use this data?

Our website shares this information with Squarespace to ensure that our website displays properly on your device.

2.6       Personal and Payment information

When you buy something on this website, we collect personal information from you to fulfil the order. We may collect information such as:

·         Billing and shipping address

·         Details relating to your purchase

·         Email address

·         Name

·         Phone number

How will we use this data?

This information is shared with Squarespace, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us. Furthermore, to safely fulfil payment, we use payment processors Stripe and PayPal. You can find more details of this in Section 5.

As you go through checkout, this site may auto-complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google Places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience.

Some services, such as purchasing a physical product, may be limited if you cannot provide accurate and complete information required.

2.7        For Website Visitors

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace collects personal data when you visit this website, including:

·         Information about your browser, network and device

·         Web pages you visited prior to coming to this website

·         Your IP address

How will we use this data?

Squarespace needs the data to run this website, and to protect and improve its platform and services. Squarespace analyses the data in a

de-personalized form.

3         Maintenance and storage of Information

The information that we collect when you use our website and services is saved for a minimum of 3 years. This is to provide the aforementioned services and roles. In many instances, it is essential that we have access to this data to provide the services offered and shown on our website. This data also aides us in offering additional services such as warranties and guarantees where applicable.

After 3 years, we will review the data collected. Once Alien Alloy Guitars no longer needs this data, we will at the very least anonymise it. However, we may also destroy this information altogether.

The data that Alien Alloy Guitars collects is stored at our headquarters, listed at the top of this document. All data is stored locally and backed up to physical hard drives. We make every effort to ensure the security of our property to prevent theft and with that, the chances of a data breach. While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of data will not occur, we make every effort to prevent such occurrences.

4        Sharing of information

Your personal information is being provided only to Alien Alloy Guitars unless we specifically state otherwise. We will not disclose your personally identifiable information to any person or company except where you have given us permission to do so or if the law requires it, or where in good faith Alien Alloy Guitars believes such action is necessary to comply with a legal process.

5.1         Payment Processing

Once you have placed an order, you are required to make a payment for the goods you have ordered. This is necessary to fulfil your contractual obligation. To process your payment, we use Stripe and PayPal who are third-party payment processors.

Stripe

Stripe can be used to process your payment. Stripe allows payment to be made both with or without a Stripe account. Typically, this is when you pay using a credit or debit card at checkout. Stripe collect, use and process the information you provide to them, including payment details, in accordance with their privacy policies.

Transfer and storage of your information

Stripe’s services in Europe are provided by a Stripe affiliate—Stripe Payments Europe Limited (“Stripe Payments Europe”)—an entity located in Ireland. In providing Stripe Services, Stripe Payments Europe transfers personal data to Stripe, Inc. in the US.

PayPal

PayPal can be used to process your payment, if you select this option at checkout. If you make a payment with PayPal, PayPal will collect, use, process and maintain the information you provide to them. PayPal does this in accordance with their privacy policy. This includes when you make payment without signing into a PayPal account. PayPal retain Personal Data in an identifiable format for the least amount of time necessary to fulfil their legal or regulatory obligations and for their business purposes.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay can be used to make a payment at checkout. This option will only be visible to customers who have enabled this service on a compatible Apple device.

Apple Pay is also designed to protect your personal information. Apple does not store or have access to the original credit, debit or prepaid card numbers that you use with Apple Pay. And when you use Apple Pay with credit, debit or prepaid cards, Apple doesn't retain any transaction information that can be tied back to you — your transactions stay between you, the merchant or developer and your bank or card issuer.

5.2       Mailing Lists

We use a combination of Squarespace and Mailchimp to provide a mailing list service. This is an opt-in service. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of a mailing list email.

Mailchimp

Mailchimp will have access to your name and email address(s) that you have provided to Alien Alloy Guitars when signing up for the mailing list. Mailchimp use and process this information to provides their services.

From time to time, Mailchimp may collect information about you from third-party sources, such as public databases, social media platforms, third-party data providers and their joint marketing partners. Mailchimp takes precautions to ensure these third-parties operate legally or contractually permitted to such information. Information can include but is not limited to:

·         Demographic information, such as age and gender

·         Device information, such as IP addresses

·         Location, such as city, state, county

·         Online Behavioural data, such as information about the use of social media, page view information, search results and links.

Mailchimp use this data to enhance their ability to provide relevant marketing and content to you.

Other Data Protection Rights

Mailchimp discloses the rights you have according to GDPR, including how to use them:

·         To access, correct, update or request deletion of your personal information

·         In addition, individuals who are residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) can object to processing, request restricted processing or request portability of their personal information.

·         Furthermore, if personal information is collected or processed on the basis of consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Tracking Technologies

Furthermore, you should be aware that Mailchimp can use web beacons and other tracking technologies to collect personal data during email campaigns. Web beacons are used in Mailchimp emails sent on behalf of Alien Alloy Guitars. Web beacons track certain behaviour such as whether the email sent was delivered, opened and whether the links within the email were clicked.  Other information collected may include recipient IP address, browser, email client type and other similar details.

This information is collected to measure the performance of our email campaigns and to provide analytics information, measuring the effectiveness of Mailchimp’s services.

6         Your Responsibility

If you make a customer account with us, you are responsible for the security of your Customer ID and passwords. Make sure you keep them in a safe place and do not share them with others. Always remember to log out after your session ends to ensure that others cannot access your private personal information. You should take this precaution even if you are not using a public computer, such as at a library or internet café, but even when using your private computer in your home. You are also responsible for ensuring your contact and payment information is up to date.

7          Your Data Protection Rights - GDPR

Right to be informed: To the best our ability we aim to tell you (the website and service user) what data we are collecting, how it is being used, how long it will be kept and whether it will be shared with any third parties. If you are unsure about any of this information, please contact us directly

Right of access: You have the right to request a copy of your information that Alien Alloy Guitars has stored.

Right of rectification: You have the right to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
